WRGW Production has created the first new spots of 2009!
This new spot promotes WRGW’s 80th anniversary concert featuring Jason Mraz and Ben Folds, live at the Smith Center on February 13!

And, as a companion for the new promo, we made a shorter version that simply celebrates WRGW’s 80th birthday. This will be played as a regular station ID!

Search for “WRGW” in the Itunes store and you will see many new WRGW podcasts, including one for the Production Department, which stays up to date with every new spot posted as soon as it is completed and ready for air. All of the Fall’s new spots our up right now, so be sure to take a look!

Hey everyone, I’m Greg. Call me Greg.
I’m a Mechanical Engineering major in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences here at GW, which means I get to take fun classes with names like Analytical Mechanics. You will probably hear me complain about them.
I’m also the host of a hip-hop show, Going Coastal. WARNING! BLATANT PLUG AHEAD! Listen to it on Wednesdays from 8-10PM. Even if you aren’t a big hip hop fan, we’ll make you one. give it a shot.
Well, that’s all you need to know about me. The info on my assistant, August Conwell will be up soon. For now though, he’s a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
So what do we do?
Producers operate the mixing board and produce DJ’s shows. The GW Production Staff is responsible for virtually everything that is not on live feed. We do much of our work in a room we call pre-prod. Here you will be able to express your creative abilities by producing PSAs (Public Service Announcements), Station IDs, and show/event promotional spots. Other production responsibilities include cueing CDs, logging songs, and creating overnight loops. By helping out with these tasks, you get to create works that are played by our DJs every day.

Bob Costas of the Olympics and the HBO Series’ On the Record did a spot read for WRGW Sports after his appearance on the Kalb Report on October 13th, and we turned it into this:
